These are a couple of digital sketches done in Photoshop with a tablet. They both took less than an hour to complete. I’m working on some personal artwork on the side and these are a couple of studies for one of the pieces.

3THW Promotion Case Study
September 30th, 2008 · No Comments
3THW or Three Tha Hard Way is a monthly party in San Diego headed up by RE:UP Magazine Editor-In-Chief Beau Lamontagne, Jon Wesley and Atom Matter. They are always down for unique promotions and themes.
For this particular event we created at Lego packaging theme, then we created Lego characters that slightly resemble the three djs.
A poster was designed to look like a Lego package.
They also released a free promo CD but also wanted to make it available online so it could be downloaded anytime after the limited run of CDs were gone. The CD insert has a direct URL and instructions for finding the music page on the website.

After the print materials were finished we designed a website that continues the Lego theme in its design.
Previous consulting and design work for 3THW included the logo design:
over two years worth of poster designs, large format decoration for the venue and various themes and stickers.

Recent Work 9.29.08

These are some recent small projects. I’m currently working on a huge 3D project that won’t be finished until February and may never show up in my portfolio. It has definitely made me want to do more 3D work.

Osirus Robot
August 23rd, 2008 · No Comments
This is a character/illustration I created for Osiris Shoes. It’s part of a tee-shirt design that I planned to submit to them through a friend who does some of their artwork.
Needless to say I never submitted it since I was told that (like many action sports companies) they don’t really pay whole lot for artwork. I’ve worked for several companies and they do make quite a bit of money from some bad tee-shirt designs so why sell the design for very little while they make a lot more from it.
This is a robot character that–if you look closely–you’ll see is made up of Osiris logos.
Here’s the full design:
